Responsibilities:
1. Lead and coordinate cost containment, risk mitigation, localization projects or NPD projects with relevant functions from project start to completion on target.
2. Lead negotiation with suppliers or conduct E-sourcing with a focus on total best cost, quality, lead time, reliable flexible delivery performance, high cooperative willingness and which can fulfill Emerson’s contract requirements.
3. Built and develop relationship with suppliers while providing feedback on suppliers’ performance, and develop strategies and manage actions for suppliers’ continuous improvement. Recommend suppliers for training if necessary.
4. Responsible for continuous programs of sourcing new materials, new suppliers and new processes to achieve improving cost positions, lead time and service levels to the buying site.
5. Lead “Design Review for sourcing” in NPD or cost reduction programs by coordinating communication with other functions locally or globally and suppliers.
6. Lead the Supplier Business Review (SBR) with Supply Chain Manager China for continuous improvements.
7. Assist in managing the inventory program with new and existing suppliers. Cooperate with local tactical purchasing team to assure that strategic goals are implemented without disrupting manufacturing material availability.
8. Performs other related work as assigned by direct manager.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Metallurgic/Manufacturing Engineering, or Business / Trading.
2. At least 5 years’ product sourcing and localization experience, or 3 years’ sourcing plus 2 years technical experience, regarding Die Casting, Investment Castings, Sand Casting, Stamping, Machining, Spring, Molded Rubber, Custom Molded Plastics in multinational company.
3. Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
4. Excellent project management skill.
5. Assertive, aggressive and confident and able to drive for results
6. Good command of English (written/oral) and software skills such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
7. Candidates that have more years of experience (at least 8 years) or proven track records will be considered as Senior Commodity Manager.
8. Commodity Managers are required to travel within China or outside China when there is a need.
